What channel is the Syracuse basketball game on? (at Pittsburgh)

PITTSBURGH, PA — Syracuse basketball (15-6, 6-2 ACC) looks for a second straight win on the road, when the Orange visit the Pittsburgh Panthers (12-9, 2-6 ACC) on Saturday evening.

The game tips off just after 6 p.m. at the Petersen Events Center and will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Viewers can also stream it through the WatchESPN app. Doug Sherman and Mark Adams will be the announcers. Pitt will wear retro gold jerseys in this contest.

Syracuse comes to the Steel City fresh off a 77-71 victory at Boston College on Wednesday night. Junior guard Tyus Battle scored 31 points and dished out 6 assists to give the Orange a big lift after they again fell behind early, as has been their habit in recent games.

Pittsburgh enters the Syracuse game off an 82-69 defeat at Clemson on Tuesday night, for its fourth straight loss in conference play. The Panthers have now dropped 19 consecutive road games, including their past 16 in ACC play. However, Pitt is a completely different team at home, posting a 10-3 record at the Petersen Events Center so far this year. And, the Panthers are 250-55 all-time in the building (an 82 percent winning percentage). Pittsburgh has won 9 of 12 games against Syracuse there.

What’s at stake for Syracuse?

Syracuse, now up to No. 45 in the NET rankings, has worked its way inside the NCAA bubble and would almost certainly be playing in the NCAA Tournament if the field was selected today. The Orange have a chance to keep the momentum going by notching a fifth road win (fourth in ACC play). The Cuse needs to pile up as many wins as it can now before its backloaded ACC schedule turns very difficult (Syracuse plays Louisville, Duke, North Carolina, and Virginia in its last six games.)

Saturday’s game is the 115th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Pittsburgh, with the Orange leading the series 69-45. The Cuse has won the last three matchups with Pitt, including a 74-63 Orange triumph at the Carrier Dome two weeks ago.
