Syracuse forward Matthew Moyer in warmups before the Jan. 24 home game vs. Boston College. The redshirt freshman injured his ankle five minutes into the contest, which Syracuse won 81-63, and did not return. Orange head coach Jim Boeheim said afterward that “he could be out a while.” (Photo by Adam Rombel/BJNN).
However, the Orange did beat Pittsburgh at the Dome just 10 days ago, 59-45. And, Syracuse has won two of three contests versus the Panthers since Kevin Stallings replaced Orange killer Jamie Dixon (he of the 15-6 record vs. the Cuse) at the helm of the Pitt program.
Syracuse, already with a short rotation, may be facing the Panthers without starting forward Matthew Moyer, who suffered a left-ankle injury just five minutes into the game against BC and never returned to play. Orange head coach Jim Boeheim said afterward that the injury is a sprained ankle and that “he could be out a while.”
