SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse basketball (6-2) goes for a fifth straight win when the Orange host their longtime rival, the Georgetown Hoyas (7-1) on Saturday afternoon.

The game tips off just after 3:30 p.m. at the Carrier Dome and will be shown nationally on ESPN. You can also stream it through the WatchESPN app.

Syracuse enters the Georgetown contest off four consecutive wins, all coming since the return from injury of senior point guard Frank Howard. In their latest contest, the Orange dispatched Northeastern 72-49 on Tuesday night. Syracuse was led by sophomore forward Oshae Brissett, who poured in 21 points and 14 rebounds against the outmanned Huskies. Syracuse scores an average of 71.9 points per game, while giving up 61.1 points (good for a +10.8 average scoring margin).

Georgetown also enters the Dome after four straight victories. The Hoyas scored an 88-78 conquest of Liberty at home in Washington, DC on Monday night. Georgetown’s main man is 6’10, 255 lb. center Jessie Govan, a New York City native who leads the team in scoring (19.5 points per game) and rebounding (7.6 boards a contest). Govan, like Syracuse’s Tyus Battle, entered his name into the NBA Draft this past spring, before opting to return to school. Georgetown scores an average of 80 points a game, while allowing 74.3 points (+5.7 avg. scoring margin).

Saturday’s game is the 94th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Georgetown, with the Orange holding a 50-43 series edge. Syracuse posted an 86-79 overtime win at Georgetown a year ago. The Hoyas led for much of the game before the Orange rallied for victory. Georgetown won the 2015 and 2016 contests with Syracuse.
