SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse basketball (13-5, 4-1 ACC) looks for a third straight win, when the Orange host the Miami Hurricanes (9-8, 1-4 ACC) on Thursday night.
The game tips off just after 8 p.m. at the Carrier Dome and will be televised on Raycom Sports affiliates in local markets. It can also be streamed through the WatchESPN app. Evan Lepler and Cory Alexander will be the announcers.
In the Syracuse area, the game will be shown on WSTM Channel 3. In other Central New York markets, the contest will be available on the following TV stations, according to the ACC:

Syracuse last hit the court on Saturday, Jan. 19, when the Orange topped the rival Pittsburgh Panthers, 74-63. That win followed up Syracuse’s thrilling overtime victory at No. 1 Duke five night earlier.
Miami enters the Dome after an 85-76 home defeat to No. 13 North Carolina last Saturday afternoon. The poor 1-4 start to its ACC season is a departure for the Canes, who won 10 or more conference games each of the previous four seasons. Duke and Virginia are the only other ACC teams to accomplish that.
The Hurricanes are led by diminutive point guard Chris Lykes (18.1 points, 3.7 assists per game). He scored 20 points in a losing effort against the Tar Heels. Lykes, though, usually gets a lot of help from his teammates. Miami is the only team among basketball’s six power conferences that has five players averaging at least 11.6 points a game each. The Canes make nearly nine three-point shots per contest.
Miami has an 0-3 road record so far this season, the same mark that Pittsburgh had before visiting Syracuse.
What’s at stake for Syracuse?
Their two straight wins over Duke and Pittsburgh, and four wins in their first five ACC contests, have put the Orange in a good position to grab an NCAA Tournament at-large bid, as of now. To keep the momentum going, the Cuse (No. 47 in the NCAA’s NET Rankings) cannot afford to drop this home game against a Hurricanes squad that ranks 93rd in NET, is near the bottom in the ACC standings, and plays with just seven scholarship players.
Thursday night’s game is the 27th all-time meeting between Miami and Syracuse, with the Orange leading the series 18-8. Syracuse won last season’s matchup, 62-55, down in Coral Gables, Florida last Feb. 17. It was a key late-season road win for the Orange on the way to sneaking into the NCAA Tournament as the last team invited. The Cuse is 4-3 versus the Canes since joining the ACC five years ago. The Orange went 13-5 against Miami when they were both in the Big East, from 1992 to 2004.
