What channel is the Syracuse basketball game on? (vs. North Carolina)

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse basketball (18-9 overall, 7-7 ACC) seeks a second straight big ACC win when it hosts the defending national champion North Carolina Tar Heels (21-7, 10-5) on Wednesday evening.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. at the Carrier Dome and will be televised on ESPN and the Watch ESPN app. Beth Mowins and Dan Dakich will be the announcers.

Syracuse comes into the contest fresh off a vital 62-55 victory at Miami last Saturday afternoon that boosted Orange NCAA bid hopes. Guard Tyus Battle scored six of his 13 points in the last 1:30 of the game to help nail down the win.

Syracuse has seen a boost in ticket sales since the victory in Miami. Sales for the North Carolina game are approaching 27,000, according to Peter Moore, Syracuse director of athletic communications. If attendance tops the 27,083 tickets sold for the Feb. 3 Virginia game, it will be the highest attendance for an on-campus college basketball game this season.

“We are looking forward to what we expect to be a large and enthused crowd for this important game with the defending NCAA Champions,” Moore tells BJNN.

North Carolina enters the Dome red hot after winning five straight games. The Tar Heels won 93-76 at Louisville last Saturday night.

What’s at stake for Syracuse?

The Orange have a chance to pick up another critical Quadrant 1 win, in this case by beating a top 30 RPI team at home, the highest classification of win available under the NCAA selection committee’s new quadrant system of evaluating teams.

A win would provide Syracuse with a little bit of breathing room inside the bubble as it gets ready to visit Duke on Saturday night.

North Carolina has won its last five meetings with the Orange, but four of those games were away from the Carrier Dome.
