Syracuse enters the Old Dominion game coming off five consecutive wins, all posted since the return from injury of senior point guard Frank Howard. In their latest contest against longtime rival Georgetown last Saturday, the Orange rallied from a 15-point deficit early in the second half to score a 72-71 conquest of the Hoyas. Junior guard Tyus Battle scored 21 of his 26 points in the second half to lead the comeback.
Old Dominion also comes to the Dome following five straight victories. The Monarchs posted a 79-69 win over Fairfield at home in Norfolk, Virginia on Sunday. Old Dominion is led by veteran guards Ahmad Caver and B.J. Stith, who average 18.5 points and 18.0 points a game, respectively.
