NEW YORK, N.Y. — Syracuse basketball (2-1) is back in action Friday afternoon when the Orange (No. 15 AP/ No. 14 Coaches) face the No. 13/ No. 16 Oregon Ducks (2-1) in the consolation game of the 2K Empire Classic in New York City.
The game tips off just after 4:30 p.m. at Madison Square Garden and will be shown on ESPN 2. John Sciambi and Fran Fraschilla will be the game announcers.
Syracuse lost to Connecticut 83-76 in the semifinals of the 2K Classic on Thursday night as the Huskies outshot the Orange from the outside and also dominated inside and on the backboards.
“We can’t make anything… Three games and we’re shooting nothing,” Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim said in his post-game comments to the press. “We got crushed on the boards and we got crushed inside,” he added.
Friday’s contest will be the first-ever meeting between Syracuse and Oregon on the hardwood.
