Syracuse is coming off a 51-21 win over the Connecticut Huskies last Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Carrier Dome. That followed Orange wins over Florida State (30-7), Wagner (62-10), and Western Michigan (55-42) in the team’s first three contests.
This is Syracuse’s first 4-0 start since 1991. It earned the Orange 83 votes in the latest Coaches Top 25 poll, placing the Cuse as the third team outside the poll — the equivalent of a No. 28 national ranking.
Clemson, ranked No. 2 in the Coaches poll and No. 3 in the AP poll, enters the contest off a 49-21 win at Georgia Tech in its ACC opener last Saturday. The Tigers previously knocked off Georgia Southern, Texas A&M, and Furman.
