Florida State rallied for a 36-26 win over Samford from the FCS last Saturday night. The Seminoles bounced back from a 24-3 opening night loss at home to Virginia Tech.
Syracuse is looking for its first 3-0 start under head coach Dino Babers, who is in his third year at the helm, and just the eighth 3-0 beginning to an Orange football season since 1942. The most recent was in 2015, when Syracuse opened the year with wins over Rhode Island, Wake Forest, and Central Michigan.
To match those past 3-0 starts, the Orange will need to snap its five-game ACC losing streak and its 10-game losing skid against Florida State. Syracuse is also 0-2 vs. new Seminoles head coach Willie Taggart, who posted both of those wins when he was South Florida’s head coach.
