SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse Orange football team (4-2, 1-2 ACC) looks to rebound from back-to-back losses when it hosts the North Carolina Tar Heels (1-4, 1-2 ACC) on Saturday afternoon.
The Homecoming Weekend game kicks off at 12:20 p.m. at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse and will be shown on Raycom Sports affiliates in local markets. In the Syracuse area, the game will be shown on WSTM Channel 3, the NBC affiliate.
In other Central New York markets, the contest will be available on the following TV stations, according to the ACC:
- Binghamton: WBPN (My 8)
- Elmira: WJKP-TV Twin Tiers
- Utica: WPNY-LP Channel 11
- Watertown: WWTI-DT2 North Country CW
Tom Werme and Dave Archer will be the game announcers.
Syracuse is coming off a bye week, following its 44-37 overtime loss at Pittsburgh on Oct. 6. Before that, the Orange had its four-game, season-opening unbeaten streak snapped in a 27-23 defeat at No. 3 Clemson on Sept. 29, after leading most of the game. Both Orange losses came after Syracuse had established leads, only to see them evaporate late with the inability to stop the opponent’s running game.
The Tar Heels enter the contest off a heartbreaking 22-19 home loss to Virginia Tech last Saturday night. The Hokies scored the game-winning touchdown with under 30 seconds left to play.
Saturday’s meeting is the fifth all-time between Syracuse and North Carolina. The Cuse and UNC have evenly split the first four meetings, with the visiting team wining each contest. This is the first time the programs have played in an ACC game. The Orange just joined the league in 2013 and are in a different division than the Heels, so they play only once every six years.
