What channel is the Syracuse-Notre Dame football game on?

BRONX, N.Y. — The 12th ranked Syracuse Orange football team (8-2) faces its most-important gridiron battle in two decades when it meets the No. 3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (10-0) on Saturday afternoon in New York City.

The game, part of Notre Dame’s Shamrock Series, kicks off at 2:30 p.m. at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx and will be shown on NBC nationally. Mike Tirico, Doug Flutie, and Kathryn Tappen are the announcing team.

Syracuse enters the battle in the Bronx, fresh off a 54-23 pummeling of Louisville last Friday night at the Carrier Dome to cap off a perfect (6-0) home campaign, its first in 17 years. The Orange will be looking for a big upset win to solidify its hopes for a New Year’s Six bowl game berth.

The Irish easily disposed of Florida State 42-13 in its final game of the season at Notre Dame Stadium. Quarterback Ian Book missed that contest with an injury, but will return to face the Orange. ND will be looking to dispatch Syracuse to keep its unbeaten record going and stay on track for a coveted spot in the four-team College Football Playoff.

Saturday’s game is the 9th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Notre Dame. The Irish lead the series 5-3, including winning the last two contests in MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (50-33 in 2016, and 31-15 in 2014).
