SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse University Athletics on Tuesday announced details it feels fans should know for this Saturday’s men’s basketball game with Duke, the ESPN College GameDay broadcast in the Carrier Dome, and the Monday Syracuse-Notre Dame women’s basketball game.

The school is preparing to host men’s basketball games against Louisville on Wednesday night and against second-ranked Duke early Saturday evening; women’s basketball games against Pittsburgh on Thursday night and against top-ranked Notre Dame on Monday night; and a women’s lacrosse game against Northwestern and men’s lacrosse game against Army West Point on Sunday afternoon.
Syracuse-Duke attendance, parking
The Orange and the Blue Devils are set for a 6 p.m. tip off on ESPN and the teams will play in front of the “largest on-campus crowd in college basketball history,” Syracuse said. Saturday night’s crowd will surpass the current record of 35,466, which was set when the Orange hosted Duke in 2014 and again in 2015.
Wildhack calls the Saturday evening matchup with top-ranked Duke “the signature sporting event in the Central New York region in the winter months.”
The school is encouraging fans to wear orange, promoting the game as an “Orange Out.” Oswego native Gary Carpenter, who was a contestant on NBC’s “The Voice,” will perform the national anthem.
Syracuse also says fans should arrive early to avoid long lines and traffic delays. Parking lots will open at 3 p.m., and Carrier Dome gates will open at 4 p.m.
Fans who don’t have a parking permit can use the University Ave. and Booth garages for $25 per car; or the Manley Field House and Skytop parking lots, which will cost $15 per car. The shuttle service from the Manley Field House and Skytop parking lots to the main campus begins at 3:30 p.m., Syracuse said.
The school also encourages fans to use the mobile or “print at home” options for tickets to avoid lines at the box office.
Syracuse also reminds fans that it uses a clear-bag policy and that it uses security screening at every gate via walkthrough metal detectors.
The school’s clear-bag policy, which went into effect at the start of football season, limits the size and type of bags permitted inside the stadium. Clear bags are “easily searched and reduce faulty bag searches,” which makes bag checks “more efficient and effective.,” the university contended when announcing the policy last August.
ESPN College GameDay attendance, parking
ESPN will broadcast its Saturday “College GameDay” TV program from the Carrier Dome from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Syracuse says admission and parking to see the show is free for all fans. Those interested in attending should enter the Carrier Dome at gates A, B, or C starting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Students attending should enter though gate F, the school said.
Free parking for the College GameDay show will be available in West Campus lots. Those fans who don’t have parking permits for the Syracuse-Duke game must remove their vehicle from the lot immediately after the College GameDay broadcast. Fans will game tickets who want to remain in the university area after the show can move to their designated basketball game parking lot (with permit) or use the following university single-game pay lots: Harrison, University Ave. Garage, Booth Garage, Manley North and South, and Skytop, the school said.
Syracuse-Notre Dame attendance, parking
Syracuse expects a “record-breaking” crowd when the 18th ranked women’s basketball team hosts No. 5 Notre Dame in a 6.p.m. tip off Monday night on ESPN2.
The Carrier Dome women’s basketball attendance record is 11,021. The venue’s gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and the university encourages those attending to “arrive early.”
Parking is free in designated lots, and the lots will open at 3:30 p.m.
Fans with reserved parking vouchers can park in West Campus lots (Stadium, Fine, and Standart) on a first-come, first-serve basis
Parking for fans who don’t have vouchers will be available in the University Avenue and Booth garages, along with the Manley Field House North and South lots. Designated shuttle service to and from the Manley Field House lots to College Place will begin at 4:30 p.m. Fans arriving prior to 4:30 p.m. can take regularly scheduled campus busses that indicate the “College Place” route.
Americans with Disabilities (ADA) parking will be available in the Irving Garage, as well as the Dome lot and Q3 lot on a space-available basis.
