SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University (SU) has appointed John Prizner as assistant dean for advancement.
In this new position, Prizner is responsible for planning and directing a fundraising program. He’ll collaborate with representatives of Whitman and SU to secure philanthropic gifts.
Prizner brings more than 15 years of experience in major gift fundraising, business development, public relations and marketing to this new role, the school said in a news release.
He previously served as assistant dean of development for the school of management at the University at Buffalo (UB).
Prior to UB, Prizner worked as a development officer at Canisius College, and in the areas of public relations and marketing partnerships for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League.
A native of Pittsburgh, Prizner earned his undergraduate degree at Canisius and a master’s degree in public relations from SU’s Newhouse School of Public Communications in 1998, the Whitman School said.
