WHITNEY LASH-MARSHALL has been named executive director of Baltimore Woods Nature Center, a nonprofit environmental educational organization located in Marcellus. She replaces Mary Kate Intaglietta, who had served as Baltimore Woods’ executive director from May 2013 until September of this year, when she departed to become the first-ever executive director of Paige’s Butterfly Run, Inc. Lash-Marshall brings professional experience in collaborative leadership, strategic planning, networking and outreach, project and event management, and educational program development, according to Baltimore Woods. She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from SUNY Oswego, a master’s degree in conservation biology, and a Ph.D. in environmental and natural resource policy from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF), where she has most recently served as a visiting instructor teaching courses in conservation, ecology, and community planning. Lash-Marshall has also previously worked as a camp counselor, naturalist, and executive director of the U.S. Society for Ecological Economics.
