ITHACA, N.Y. — The Women’s Opportunity Center (WOC) is starting a new startup business mentorship program for women wishing to advance their home business, start a new small business, or develop additional business skills by working one-on-one with an experienced professional.

The WOC is currently recruiting women business owners, women business leaders, and experienced professional women interested in serving as a mentor. The organization will then match each business mentor with a protege. The time commitment for the program is one year.

In support of these efforts, the WOC is holding a membership mingle on Wednesday, April 26 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the center’s offices at 315 N. Tioga St. in Ithaca. The first half of the meeting is a meet and greet, while the second half will feature a presentation on the program.

The Women’s Opportunity Center says it works to advance economic and social mobility for women, helping them act on personal and professional goals, build supportive networks, and change the systems that impeded or inhibit women.
