UTICA — WUTR/WFXV Eyewitness News in Utica has named Mary Wilson as co-anchor of its nightly TV news broadcasts. She will join veteran journalist Don Dudley on the Eyewitness News anchor desk.

“Mary is the consummate professional. We could not be more pleased that we have been able to promote from within our existing staff for this critical position,” Stephen Merren, vice president and general manager at Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc., said in a news release. Nexstar owns the Utica TV stations.

Wilson joined the Eyewitness News team in May 2013 as a reporter.

Wilson is a native of southern Vermont and a graduate of Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications with a degree in broadcast journalism.

Eyewitness News, with Dudley and Wilson, airs weeknights at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. on WUTR-TV (an ABC affiliate) and at 10 p.m. on WFXV-33 (a FOX affiliate).
