SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The YMCA of Greater Syracuse announced it has hired Darnell Hayes as Eastern District VP.
He will be responsible for the leadership of the YMCA’s East Area operations, which includes the Hal Welsh East Area and Manlius YMCAs, as well as Camp Iroquois, according to a YMCA of Greater Syracuse new release.
Hayes most recently served as a branch executive director with the River Valley Regional YMCA in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Prior to that, he was a branch director with the Ocean Community YMCAs in Rhode Island.
Hayes also serves on the national level as a YMCA of the USA member-experience trainer. He is also a mentor to other young leaders looking to continue their journeys and careers in the YMCA, the release noted.
Hayes will join the YMCA of Greater Syracuse in early October. The organization has more than 60,000 members.
